Our commitment to sustainability bleeds into every aspect of our business.
Adyn’s top priority is to create furniture with a 25+ year lifespan — products made of durable materials that won’t degrade and are designed with a timeless simplicity that will adapt to life’s many stages. To us, sustainable design means reducing consumer waste.
We also strive for sustainable sourcing and manufacturing practices, including: use of FSC- and LEED-certified birch plywood, LEED-certified laminate, and post-consumer recycled cardboard packaging. We will continue to innovate our business practices to reduce our carbon emissions and have made a long-term commitment to track and offset all emissions related to materials, production, and shipping.
Living in Portland, the natural beauty of our surroundings has always been a source of inspiration — from the Oregon Cascade Mountain Range to the Willamette River. So when we decided to launch our business, we saw it as an opportunity not only to create elegant products but to support the local artisans and fabricators that make up our community, and to embody Oregon’s global reputation for sustainability.
We’re proud to say that nearly our entire supply chain, from the mill that supplies our wood to our fabricators and logistics partners, is Oregon-based.
Founded by mother-son duo Bonnie and Aaron, Adyn seeks to bridge Bonnie’s 30+ years of experience in sustainable architecture with Aaron’s knowledge of the modern consumer and the changing way they interact with furniture.
Inspired by the timeless elegance of mid-century design, Adyn uses durable, sustainably sourced materials to create versatile pieces that can pass from dining room to office, from apartment to home, from mother to son.
